Peace is a gift
…we can give ourselves.
This is a key sentence I once didn’t understand at all.
Because I had to…!
Do
Handle
Figure things out
Find
Search
Get things done
Achieve
That direction will not lead you to Peace.
Because the priorities at the beginning
were not set for your peace.
They were set for survival, recognition,
proving something, filling something inside.
And as the wise Chinese saying goes
“you can’t pour
from an empty cup”.
Simply.
And when you keep running like this,
running on momentum,
there’s nothing at the finish line
that will truly satisfy you.
How many years have you been running like this?
Aren’t you tired?
Peace is a gift
that only we can give ourselves.
The first step is shocking.
Stop.
The first step is the hardest.
What?!
But I have responsibilities, life,
bills, family…
And how is that working out for you?
Are you happy?
Stopping means giving yourself
time for yourself.
To rethink your priorities.
Is this chase you’re in
still yours?
Are the people you started with
still with you?
Has something changed in you
along the way?
Your inner peace is
the only true signpost
that tells you if things are really okay.
Stopping also means
giving yourself permission to change.
And change doesn’t have to be
worse or smaller.
I love those stories where someone
earned a lot
and found happiness when earning less.
Really?
Even I wouldn’t want to be happy like that 🙂
Just kidding.
The point is
if I have that dream car,
it would be nice, while driving it,
to hold the hand of someone I love
and who loves me back.
That’s what gives it flavor.
And if I don’t want the car,
because I prefer a bike,
then it’s beautiful to have someone next to me
who loves those rides …and me.
It’s not about money.
It’s not about having things.
It’s not about giving things up.
It’s about how I reach them
and how I relate to them.
It’s about living – today.
It’s about the quality of moments
spent with the people we love.
That’s what gives life its flavor.
Everyone has their own way.
Everyone likes something different.
The question is
Do we even have something
to feel joy about?
And when you stop
Won’t you panic that the life
you’re living isn’t really yours,
because you’re not in it?
There is the one who always manages.
The one who handles everything.
The one who runs perfectly on autopilot.
Stopping is shocking.
Stopping changes things.
Your relationship with yourself.
It restores truth.
It restores quality.
It restores lightness.
And it restores you.
It takes a moment.
Before you see
…yourself 🙂
