Where are my Roots

THE HISTORIES OF OUR FAMILIES are not only difficult.
They are also Beautiful. Unique. Full of Life.

They are our GIFT and our RESOURCE
once we embrace what is finally ready to be heard.
No. More precisely.
It is already being heard.
Every powerful thing that has happened
in our family line still resounds,
in our genes, in our stories,
in our families and in our daily lives.
Because what are genes,
if not information?
Information from our Mother and our Father.
Information from their parents, and our Grandparents.
Information from our Ancestors.

If we can look so much like them
on the outside, physically,
perhaps on the inside,
in energy, in essence,
we carry them just as deeply?
So when we start
to look wider, and with more attention,
maybe we begin to notice
what is still playing out and alive.
What’s been hidden.
What’s painful.
What’s shameful.
What’s not right.
What didn’t fit.
What was uncomfortable.
What had to be hidden.
Buried.
Silenced.

Shhh… We don’t talk about That.
Shhh… We don’t see That.
Shhh… We don’t feel That.
Shhh… That’s a Secret.
Even worse – A Family Secret!
So it resounds still
what should have long ago been Grieved.
Embraced.
Understood.
Seen and Felt.
Then nothing needs to keep playing out anymore.
Then the difficult parts are given the respect they deserve.
The hard parts.
This is what a full life is made of.
Only then can our life move forward
with a new breath.
Without the baggage.
Without the repeating, hidden emotions and patterns.
Then our life can finally become truly our own.
The only question is…
Will this lifetime be enough? 🙂
