Not Every Dream Is Ours

“Ohhh, I’d love a house like that!
Exactly like the one they have!”
But… what’s the price?
60 hours of work a week instead of 40
⁃ Hmmmm…
“And that car? That sporty one 😍”
Years of overtime, working weekends.
Not being fully present with your family.
Saying “no” to all the parties and nights out.
⁃ Uhhhh…
“And that warm, cozy home with the beautiful wife?”
Seeing her at every step.
Listening when she cries.
Creating a safe space for her
without distractions, without side affairs.
⁃ Mamma mia! That’s a lot!
Okay…
So maybe I’ll stand here and just watch for a bit 😜

Behind every dream,
there’s a cost.
Before you envy someone else’s life,
ask yourself honestly:
Is that even my dream?
You might discover..
that what you already have is the dream.
And you don’t actually need anything more.
Or maybe – once you count the cost – you’ll think:
“No way, not for all the treasure in the world.”
That dream’s not mine.
Or maybe it turns out:
This is what you truly want.
And if so, take your next step.
Consciously and responsibly.

We were raised to compete with one another.
But we don’t have to.
There’s room for everyone.
Still, not everyone – once the real cost is clear –
actually wants to be in someone else’s shoes.
Let’s be grateful for what we already have,
instead of wasting our energy
on dreams that don’t even belong to us.

Our energy always follows our thoughts.
It follows our words.
It follows our emotions.

*

All of it is speaking to us
– about us.
That’s why understanding our emotions
is so important.
They are our signposts.

*

When we complain, criticize, and judge,
we’re sending a clear message to life:
“More of this, please.”

*

To charge and create Your Life.
That’s not just a slogan.
That’s a demanding,
daily,
inner practice.
Practice of working with yourself.

Notice – Stop – Change

I want Romance in My Life

“What more do you want?” – my husband asked.  “Romance… with my husband,” – I answered.  “I can’t give you…
