Those Who Have Passed Away.

Religion takes so much from us.
Pressed into a system,
we say goodbye in mourning – forever.
Or maybe, someday, somewhere, in paradise.
Maybe that’s why grief lasts so long?
Because deep in our hearts,
we simply can’t accept it.
Forever is a lot.
Forever is eternity.

Religion takes away the soul’s perspective.
The one in which those who have left
haven’t really left us at all.
Where each of us has something
to learn here on Earth.
Where we are meant to walk alongside one another
and move through our lessons.
Sometimes, often, deeply painful ones.

We miss those
who have already left our lives
in a way that does not serve us.
Guilt.
Abandonment.
Longing.
Betrayal.
Despair.

But they are with us.
They are waiting for us.
They are supporting us.
They love us – deeply.

If only we let ourselves
feel them in the silence.
If only we sent out that intention.
The signs will come.

It’s incredible how much peace
has been taken from us
through the lens of just one lifetime.
Without deeper meaning,
we drowned in guilt and punishment.
Our loved ones who have passed
are our eternal friends.
Our soulmates,
whom, even if we can’t see them anymore,
we can still feel.
Do you know how I know?
From that tear forming in your eye.
Because we know everything.
Deep in our hearts.

Healing Our Burning Emotions.

We long to be understood. We long to be held. We long to be accepted.  Why do we want it…
