Here, Free Birds Fly

See – Stop – Change

My Emotions are Signposts.
With these 3 Steps,
I can work on myself every day,
so I can grow emotionally.

Why?
For my freedom and the integration of
my words, my thoughts,
and my feelings.
For better relationships,
that I can build not by getting triggered,
but by responding
in a way that is true to myself
and with greater peace.

Morning Silence Meditation
is a tool for:
– learning Self-Observation
– learning Distance
– learning that I Am Not my thoughts.

After 3 weeks of sitting there
and getting frustrated
“What am I supposed to do??”
Aaaaa… breathe.
My back hurts….
“Quiet!”
A million thoughts,
reflections,
stories,
scenarios… and me.
Aaaaa… I’m supposed to breathe.

It isn’t easy at first.

But it is necessary,
to see how many thoughts
can sweep us away in just 5 minutes.

How can we learn to manage ourselves,
if no one ever taught us
how to sit behind the wheel?

We were given a supercar,
yet we’re riding around
on roller skates…
Bruised.
Frustrated.
Exhausted.
Has anyone actually arrived
where they truly wanted to go?

How can we do that,
if we can’t even sit
in real silence for 5 minutes?

This is Step 1
of Managing Myself.

To see – what takes hold of me,
occupies me, and throws me off balance.
To recognize – whether it is mine or not.
To decide – whether I still want it
to be part of my life or not.

This is Step 1
of Managing Myself.

To see.
To learn how to guide my mind,
my body and my heart.

To have the courage
to turn the key in that red Ferrari.

To see
how much rubbish
we need to throw away.
How much unnecessary baggage
we carry.

Morning Silence Meditation
is a practice of discipline.

Why do I need it?
Because Kathy, James or Michael
aren’t better than I am
just because they achieved something
that I also want.
If they didn’t inherit money, a house or a job
from their family,
and they didn’t win the lottery,
then what they needed was…
DISCIPLINE.

Why?
So that tomorrow, when choosing
between the couch, a TV series, or a beer
– I can finally choose myself.

Not by giving up everything
that already makes up my life today.
But by adding
just one new thing to my day.
One thing
that will allow me
to keep changing.
One thing
that will help me
learn something new.
One thing
that will become
the first small step of my new journey.

Towards life.
Towards dreams.
Towards change.
If someone else can…
So can I.
If someone else can…
So can You.

🙂
